HSLDA: Maryland Homeschool Laws

Home School Legal Defense Association or HSLDA is a non-profit advocacy organization that makes homeschooling possible by protecting homeschooling families and equipping them to provide the best educational experience for their children. We have been trusted for over 35 years to care for homeschooling families as we safeguard their freedom and secure the future of home education.

Hope Academy participates with HSLDA as a support group.  We encourage all of our families to become members of HSLDA and receive the benefits of legal protection and help advocate for our rights as home educators.  Families who use the Hope Academy Support Group Code: 210862 receive a discount on their yearly membership. 

MACHE Home Page

MACHE Membership

MACHE or Maryland Association of Christian Home Educators is a homeschooling support organization. MACHE has various levels of membership and offers many different training, support, and other homeschool opportunities and resources.

Maryland County Notification

of Intent to Homeschool

The state of Maryland requires parents to notify their county of residence of their intent to homeschool no later than 15 days prior beginning homeschool instruction.  Please click on the link for your county of residence for more information on how to submit notification.
